Predator Feed

It’s one thing to read about the ferocity of predator animals when they assail, possess, and devour their food. It’s quite another to see it for yourself and hear the fearsome sounds that come through those menacing teeth. Don’t miss your chance to witness the power of lions, tigers, hyenas, and more at the Predator Feed, one of Out of Africa Wildlife Park’s most popular events.
As the feeding crew arrives, arms heavy with huge slabs of meat, you’ll observe firsthand the predator instinct of food possession. With great effort, meat is flung over the fence where watchful and anxious predators prepare to gorge themselves in dominating fashion. Watch these powerful masters of the wild display their catch as if they were proudly showing off the fruits of a treacherous hunt.
As you follow the animal caretakers on this walking tour, you’ll observe a variety of different predators that will display their own individual personalities. With nearly 800 pounds of raw meat delivered to a variety of animals, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take amazing pictures while bears chow down, hyenas laugh, and lions roar.
This spectacular adventure happens 3 days a week, so you won’t have to rely on happenstance to catch our Predator Feed event.
Showtime: 3:00 p.m. every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Good to know: This show is a walking adventure that begins at Tram Stop 2. Some trams are available on a first-come, first-served basis and for those with walking restrictions. Average tour time is approximately 40 minutes. The Predator Feed show is included with general admission.
Wildlife Preserve

Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Mingus Mountains of Camp Verde, Out of Africa Wildlife Park is nestled on over 100 acres of rolling hills and valleys. This setting is home to hundreds of exotic mammals, birds, and reptiles from all over the world. It’s the perfect place to raise the awareness of our exotic neighbors while promoting understanding through in-person contact. It truly is an awe-inspiring adventure blending family bonds with the power and cunning of the wild.
There are several ways to engage the splendor of the Wildlife Preserve, which actually encompasses all aspects of the park, from the free-roaming Serengeti to the entertainment arena and courts, even to the spacious habitats located throughout the park. Each element was designed to give you a chance to see these beautiful creatures and their natural behavior up-close. For your benefit, many of these habitats have unobstructed photo platforms, so you can photograph the animals in the purest sense – fence free.

Trams run throughout the park until 4:00 p.m. daily. Feel free to take advantage of this courtesy service, and enjoy your friendly driver narrating throughout the loop. It’s a great way to get the lay of the land, and with five separate stops along the way, there are plenty of chances to hop on or off, depending on your preference. Tram(s) are wheelchair accessible.

You can also walk the park at your leisure. Along the way, you will often observe caretakers inside various habitats, interacting and answering questions about the animals. We encourage you to ask questions to gain an understanding and awareness of many of the struggles that these beautiful creature face in today’s world. For the sake of their survival, we speak as ambassadors for those without a voice.

Reptile Resort
Take a peak at our reptilian friends on full display at our most recent addition – Reptile Resort. Not a show, but a spectacular and diverse reptile collection. Reptile Resort includes exotic snake and lizard species from around the globe.
Each exhibit provides our cold-blooded inhabitants the ability to move freely between outdoor and indoor spaces, so they can navigate their way to a favorite basking spot. The exterior sanctuary, scheduled for completion in spring 2013, will be equally rich and stimulating with vegetation, trees, and water features. Meanwhile, the interior structure is open for your viewing pleasure. The Reptile Resort exhibit integrates spacious climate-controlled enclosures, live plants and substrates, and a passionate crew of keepers, all for the purpose of enriching the lives of our scaly friends. This new structure provides a vital establishment for the park’s reptile- and amphibian-focused conservation initiatives.
Large glass windows provide you with the perfect vantage point to observe the wonderment of the reptile world. Get even closer through our floor dome, a clear portal at ground level for that eye-to-eye engagement with a reticulated or Burmese python. Whether you are enthralled by the viperids, like a Black Forest cobra or Gaboon viper, or captivated at the magnificent colors and behavior of our four-legged friends, such as a rhinoceros iguana and giant tegu, this is one exhibit not to miss.
