We've been busy this summer. Logo changes, web design changes, added a search bar all while also bringing on new Merchants and New Corporate Partners. Its been an exciting time!

Watch for something even more exciting coming soon. We can't tell you yet but something big is about to happen.

Our Road Show Season begins September 27 in Vegas! We'll be there all week with 4 awesome events. We really look forward to Road Show Season when we get to see all our friends again while making new friends at the same time.

Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson

Tena and I found this awesome Resort in Tucson! Even better, Westin's La Paloma is on The Employee Network and we get a great employee discount. We were looking for a place not to far from Phoenix to celebrate our 17th Wedding Anniversary. It only took about an hour and forty minutes from Chandler to get there. I remember speaking to Dawn who handled our reservation. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the property. After speaking to her I knew this is where we needed to spend this very important anniversary.

Checking in was a breeze. Trish at the front desk was great. Its obvious their employees are happy and seem eager to share that happiness.

We got a suite with an awesome view of the golf course and mountains. After unpacking, we went to the lobby to explore the possibilities for our evening. While standing around in the front lobby deciding which way to go, this nice lady Sandy came over and introduced herself as one of the managers and offered us suggestions of how to start our festivities. First she suggested that the Red Door Spa had a complimentary chair massage in the Azul Lounge so we both got in a celebratory chair massage to start our night. We sat in front of this huge window and watched this unbelievable sunset on the mountains in front of us while sipping some lovely adult beverages.

Chris, the restaurant manager, came by our table when he found out it was our anniversary and introduced us to a nice bottle of bubbly and the menu. We had a romantic dinner at Azul there on the property while we watched the rest of the sunset.

The pools were awesome and they even have a really fun slide and a salt water lap pool too. Tena was excited to find that they have racket ball and I found their workout room to be complete with more than enough equipment to keep me busy.

The swim up bar and deli reminded me of when we were married in the Caribbean. We ordered room service for breakfast. We were really pleased when they said 20 minutes and they were actually there in 20 minutes. They had lots of activities like golf and tennis that we did not have time for but we're already talking about going again. While I could go on and on, I know you will enjoy this place and its friendly staff. Hello to my other special friends Carrie, Mark, Frank and Diane who all just added more fun to this very special occasion! Cheers!

The end of the Spring Road Shows

Another awesome Road Show Season! 18 unbelievable events in just the span of Spring 2010. We visited with thousands of really cool people during this time. Our Members had unprecedented opportunities to get to know many of our Merchant Merchant Partners, while our our Merchant Partners were able to showcase their various businesses like never before.

Our last Show of season was at The City of Chandler. We really had a great time with our Employee Network Car Show. Chandler Fire brought out 2 Engines and Chandler PD showed off their Police Chevelle Race Car and their Armored Vehicle. Our little Red Roadster was there with Trailer and several new cars from San Tan Subaru, Five Star Ford, Thorobred Chevrolet and San Tan Honda. RV Rental outlet brought out a 31 foot RV and we even managed to fit Mazatzal Hotel & Casino's wrapped van as well. Tunes were playing and balloons were plentiful as always.

Even Chandler Fire took a few minutes out for some cutting up in The Employee Network Car!

We took lots of great pictures all during the season. Check out the "Past Events" category on The Employee Network and look for pictures of yourself and your friends. A must see are the pictures from North Vista Hospital in Las Vegas. Sonya from SeaWorld brought animals, the pictures are great!

We greatly appreciate all that were involved in making this Road Show Season 1 of the best ever. Thank you from all of us to our Awesome Employee Members for making us feel so welcomed. North Vista Hospital event May 2010

Check this out! This a picture from our Road Show Event at North Vista Hospital in Las Vegas. It was really extra cool as our awesome SeaWorld Rep Sonya Wade was able to arange to bring animals to our event. It was great to visit this facility for the 1st time. The North Vista staff that visited were really welcoming and made us feel like family. Melissa and the HR people did a great job getting the word out to everybody there. I think we met most of their Employees while we were there. Our Merchant Partners were really happy at the reception we recieved. It was a great way to end our Nevada Spring Season.

Just 1 more Road Show for this year. Honeywell will round out the season on December 4 with a total of 21 Shows for the 09 fall season. We are pleased and honored to have been invited to so many of these awesome Employee Events. My staff and I look forward to our upcoming Road Show schedule starting in late Feb. 2010.

We'll see you Honeywell people soon with lots of your favorite Merchants along with many new ones as well. Expect to see 50 of Employee Networks coolest Merchant Partners in the hanger. Another success in Nevada!

Just got back from our first Road Shows of the season. 4 in a row in Nevada no less. What a great way to start a season. We met face to face with thousands while there, I even remembered some of the standouts from our last visit there and they even brought new people with them.

Southwest Gas District office then The Hard Rock, US Airways and last but not least the Southwest Gas Corporate office. It was great to meet so many fun people. We really appreciate the awesome reception that we received by all, its a lot of hard work for for my team as well as our dedicated Merchant Partners and these people absolutely made it all worth it.

It was also really cool to meet all the people that we had only known on the phone. There's so many people to thank for making this thing happen that I will need another Blog page to do it, so look for it later in the week but for now, You all rock!

We took lots of fun pictures and we'll get them up on the page as quick as possible. Check out the past events category towards the end of the week to see if you're there.

Fairytale Brownies is a member of a local merchant group here in Phoenix called The Employee Network. The Employee Network is the official employee discount program of 75 of the largest corporations & government agencies in Arizona and Nevada. During the summer months, we sometimes collaborate with The Employee Network on creating fun and engaging things for group members (over 500,000 of them!). Recently Fairytale Brownies sponsored a contest ran by The Empoyee Network. It was a scavenger hunt of sorts, we asked members to answer several questions about Fairytale Brownies and email their answers to be entered for a chance to win 3 awesome gourmet brownie gifts from Fairytale Brownies. Adventures of Steve & Tena Universal Studios

Hi all.

OK so when I tell this story you ladies will probably say "typical" and you dudes will probably say "huh,"and want to use the idea. Tena and I just celebrated 26 years together this last week! I'm sure you're probably thinking to your self that we must have just been children and hmmm, were still just children. So much in fact that going to theme parks is a favorite anytime quick trip. So this year I had absolutely no plans for our anniversary other than the old standby of last minute roses and dinner at that Italian restaurant again. Well at least I remembered this year right? As we are about to announce our new e-ticket program with Universal Studios I got the wild idea of going to Universal Studios for our Anniversary. Guys, you must be thinking that Steve Kogan is a genius! An anniversary that includes rides and fun, and stuff I actually want to do. Oh and a room and dinner are just part of the deal. Another great plus for this is the nightlife right at City Walk right on the property. Great places to eat, shop, dance or even see movie. Lots of daytime shopping there as well. Also great for families with something for everyone.

Its an easy quick trip at only about 6 hours from Chandler. We hadn't been for for about 3 years and I knew that some upgrades were made as well as the addition of The new Simpsons ride. This is a must do and it was so good we went twice. Back to the Future was cool but The Simpsons ride is way better. If you haven't been on the Mummy Returns ride I can tell you that its also a blast. Tena screamed till it was over and that just makes me laugh. They must have also beefed up the water cannons on Jurassic Park cause we got soaked. Overall we went on every ride and enjoyed all the shows, we had a blast. The food at the park is easy to get to with lots of great choices. You should definitely think about buying the all you can eat ticket when you 1st get inside the park I think it is a real value. If you can part with the extra bucks, the Front of the line pass or even the VIP passes are a treat.

Halloween promises to be a scary time at Universal Studios. The Employee Network will have special tickets for October. We will let you know more as we get a bit closer.

Steve & Tena's SanDiego Zoo excursion

While I feel one more trip out of the heat is in order before Fall, let me tell you about the last of our San Diego excursion.

As you know we did SeaWorld, but we also visited The San Diego Zoo too. Tena and I had a great time while also hanging out with our friend W.. What a crack up, those of you who know our buddy can only imagine. We got there in the morning and started off with a nice bus tour of the park. We sat up on top but we probably could have seen more down below. After that we were all hungry so we went to Albert's Restaurant in the zoo. It offers full service fine dining and includes open-air deck seating overlooking a private waterfall. I had a really great flat iron steak sandwich.

Did not have time to go on the sky ride which was inclusive in our tickets. We should have done that first and headed to the other side of the park and worked our way back. I make that mistake every time we go. Our tickets also include the shuttle which is a bus that lets you get off in the areas that you want to visit and then picks you to go to next area of choice. i would have been happier doing the shuttle thing and not doing the Bus Tour.

The one big thing that I wanted to see was the brand new Elephant Odyssey exhibit. They put huge dollars into this deal and its awesome to see. Reminded me of the movie Jurassic Park the way they built it. You need to check it out.

Just in case you want to know where we stayed, we chose Mission Plaza Hotel & Suites by SeaWorld. Its one of our newer Merchant Partners so we thought we would give it ago. Right down the street from SeaWorld so it was convenient to where we wanted to be. We, in Steve and tena fashion stayed in one of the suites. It was cool because the bedroom was separate from the rest of the room and it had no windows. It was quiet and DARK. It was hard to get up in the morning as we were so comfi. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. There is a pool, work out facility and a restaurant on site. I will tell you that there was a bar b que place across the street that looked awesome. We saw people lined up around the building all day and into the later evening.

We also drug W. on a bay cruise in the afternoon, we drank to much but we were on vacation! It was cool to see all the military ships up close. You will definitely have a new respect for our Navy when you get that close. Speaking of getting close if you want to get so inspired that you can't help but feel our Stars and Stripes, go spend the day on the Midway Aircraft Carrier, you'll go away with a new respect, I promise.

Well, another great time down as we try to get some down time in before the Road Show season is again upon us. If you want some awesome Mexican food, email me and I'll share my new favorite place in Old Town and the name of my new best buddy the bar manager.

Steve & Tena's San Diego travels

Another installment of Steve & Tena's travels. Recently we decided to get over to San Diego for a few days. In little more than a 5 hour drive we were there. The weather was awesome so we decided that we should 1st go to SeaWorld and then San Diego Zoo.

We were so happy to be out of the heat. I was also pleased at how much easier it was to get a cold adult beverage at SeaWorld than I had remembered. I noticed that the park was busy but not busy enough that we really ever had to stand in lines for more than a couple of minutes. That's kind of a treat.

We've been to SeaWorld quite a few times over the years. I never knew that you could go into the stables to see the Clydesdale Horses. We were both amazed that you could walk right up and touch them. Can't believe we never went in there before.

I wanted to go on Journey to Atlantis which is a really cool water ride but Tena was to chicken. We did walk through the childrens area, it looks like a blast. She wouldn't let me play in there either.

Well I'll talk to you some more later about San Diego Zoo but let me tell you, if you haven't been to SeaWorld for awhile, GO! I'm not sure you will ever again be able to be there with such light crowds. Don't forget, we have discounted tickets for ya here at The Employee Network and a second visit is free. If you don't know, we can email these tickets to you in a matter of hours and you get to take them right to the gate and that means no line for tickets!

Adventures of Steve & Tena on the Verde Canyon Railroad

You should know, T and I travel around a bit after Road Show Season's. So here's another adventure to tell you about. The Verde Canyon Railroad train ride through the awesome Verde Valley.

The Verde Canyon Railroad folks are the best. They welcome you aboard and you know they are happy that you're there. We took the 1st class car and let me tell you it's luxury baby! Big, bold, suck- you-in-to-your-seat couches invite you to enjoy the beautiful view thru their picture windows. There is a complete bar with top shelf liquors and an expert Bar Tender to make whatever your heart desires. The bar tender was quick to get everyone involved in looking out the windows as she pointed out wild life and rock formations. Just as a side note, many of you reading this have met Teresa from the Verde Canyon Railroad at our Employee Network Road Shows. Don't be bashful about dropping her name, not sure it will really get you anything more than a smile but ya never know. Go take this trip, you'll be happy you did!

Cudo's to Big Daddy's Smokehouse

Official Employee Network Merchant Partner supports Phoenix Children's Hospital

June 20th, 2009 Big Daddy's Smokehouse Sports Grill had its inaugural Big Daddy's Burger Eating Contest. Co-sponsored with LA Boxing of Ahwatukee, the event was well received by the Ahwatukee and West Chandler community. With 6 contestants all vying for the Grand Prize and the wish to be crowned "King Big Daddy" it was a close race amongst the top three.

The first place winner and Inaugural King Big Daddy is Mike Sullivan from Ahwatukee. He consumed 4 Big Daddy Burgers and 1 Pound of french fries in 43 minutes and 29 seconds. This equals about 5 pounds of food. "It was an incredible event, everyone had a great time and the top three finishers were very close to each other" said, Al Ames the Vice President of Happiness. "I Love the food here and when I heard that the Burger Eating Contest was to help out the Phoenix Children's Hospital, I knew I had to join. I hope this contest gets as big as the Nathan's Hot Dog Contest. It was a lot of fun and most of all a great cause", said Mike Sullivan Winner and King Big Daddy of the Burger Eating Contest.

1st Place and crowned "King Big Daddy" is Mike Sullivan an 09 grad from Desert Vista High School.
2nd Place was Vince Lucero from Casa Grande and a Mixed Martial Arts fighter.
3rd Place was Charles Parker of Ahwatukee

All net proceeds went to the Phoenix Children's Hospital. "Being able to donate to such a great hospital that is designed to help children from all walks of life is very rewarding", said Dustin Hayden, General Manager of LA Boxing of Ahwatukee.

"I couldn't agree more with Dustin", said Ames, "I remember how great the Phoenix Children's Hospital was when my daughter had to have surgery there". "It was a very trying time and the Hospital did a great job making my family and I as comfortable and informed as possible".

The Employee Network completes the Spring Road Shows!

Another season down and what a season it was! The Employee Network and their awesome Merchant Partners shine in the glory of what might be the best Road Show Season ever. "We finished up in our 1st event ever at Lockheed Martin yesterday" said Steve Kogan President/Founder of The Employee Network. It was a great day as they were welcomed with open arms by the employees of this great company. "I don't know how many of them we saw but it was a lot" said Steve. They even parked The little Red Car in front of the guard shack with the lights and music blaring.

The events went off without a hitch this season. No catastrophes, injuries or equipment damage and the Merchant Partners were quite pleased with the new procedure changes. Steve says there are more changes coming before the next season as well. Its time to get back to the basics with a good old fashioned keep it simple routine.

Nevada Road Shows went well too. First was City of Henderson and then 2 at Southwest Gas with our finish at US Airways. Steve said "It was a tough week but we all had a great time with great showings of employees at all". All three are already requesting to schedule a fall date. Hard Rock Hotel is tentatively set for September 24th. The fall Nevada Road Shows will be huge as will be Arizona's already huge upcoming schedule.

The Employee Network has made some great additions as well this season. Like the brand new VIP Membership Card that was introduced at the Nevada Road Shows. This will give new members a sense of belonging while they share the Employee Network brand with Nevada. The Employee Network's 1st order of 18,000 high quality plastic, all black, VIP cards will be distributed freely at all Road Show Events from here on.

The web pages have been re-designed with the nav bar broken out. This will keep the clicks down while cumbersome category searching will be no more. "Its a lot more to look at but ultimately I believe our Merchant Partners will benefit", said Steve. They are still working on some of the category names as a work in progress. The colors of the pages will change over the next couple of weeks as well to give a more updated look.

This new blog has been installed on the site. The Employee Network will use the Blog to talk about events, share ideas, and brag about their Merchant Partners. This will add to the already high Google Rating making The Employee Network even more relevant to the World Wide Web communities.

If you have not visited their web sites in the last couple of weeks, make a point to do so now. If you see something they did not, drop a line to Andrea or Steve, they'll appreciate it. Road Show to Lockheed Martin

Wow, our last Road Show for the season! I love the way it will end at Lockheed Martin too. This will be our first event ever at Lockheed and we are all really excited about it. I visited there today to tour our space. I met Cindy and Cookie and feel already like they are going to be good buds of mine. I was pleased to find a color flier about our event right on the security desk. We will have about 40 of our Merchant Partners there with us so that means we will have a lot of door prizes. That always makes it fun. The space is big so we will blow up lots of balloons to make it a party. If you are a Lockheed employee reading this, make sure you come by and visit us on June 11 10am - 2pm in the All Hands Room. Look for the Employee Network's little red roadster out front, you can't miss it.

Staying at The Sedona Real Resort

Just wanted to tell you all what a great time we had last weekend. We stayed at The Sedona Real Resort. Among other stuff we also road the rails on The Verde Canyon Railroad.

The room at Sedona Real was beautiful. We opted for one of the suites although we saw some of the other rooms that would have been awesome too. They even have a giant room with a full kitchen that would be perfect for the fam. Comfy bed, soft linens, cold air conditioning, fireplace and a Jacuzzi tub right in the living room!

The staff was really friendly and the concierge knowledgeable about their Sedona community. The grounds were manicured with lots of green plantings. There were so many things to do right down the street like hiking, Jeep tours (Pink Jeep next time), food, wine tasting and nightlife. We were tremendously happy and look forward to our next visit. Go visit, you won't be disappointed and The Employee Network discount of 25% wont hurt your feelings either. Next week I'll tell you about our trip on the Verde Canyon Railroad.

City of Surprise a success!

The Employee Network did City of Surprise today. It was awesome with not even a hick up in our setup. The HR people there are a great team and super easy to work with. Andrea has been just awesome at making change to the process and setup of our events. You can already tell how much the Merchant Partners are responding to the change. The Employee Members at The City are really cool to work with. All of us enjoy this event every time we do it.

We had this one employee tell Andrea and I that she never wins anything. I told her that every time someone says that they win. End of the day came and we pulled the winner for the grand prize, she won! Just makes me smile!

City of Surprise Road Show

Getting excited about the next Road Show scheduled for June 2 2009. We will have about 30 of our Merchant Partners with lots of great door prizes and balloons. We are bringing The Employee Network trailer and that means we will have the little red sport out there too. If you are in the neighborhood, we will be at The Library. Open the windows and listen for the tunes from the trailer.

Nevada Road Shows

It was an awesome week in Nevada for our very first Employee Network Road Shows! On Tuesday we were hosted by The City of Henderson at their convention center. It's a very nice facility and their employees were great to us. We had a lot of fun as they all seemed to be in good humor.

On Wednesday, we were hosted by Southwest Gas. Another outstanding day! We saw so many people that most of the day you could not see from one end of the room to the other. Talk about nice people, we really appreciated the warm welcome.

Thursday we visited with the employees of US Airways. Again employees filed in to greet us. They came from every part of the airport and were just so nice to us. We met a lot of character's that made me laugh most of the day.

We are really looking forward to our Fall Road Shows back in Nevada for an encore.
