GO DOWN MEMORY LANE AT CLASSIC CANDY

GO DOWN MEMORY LANE AT CLASSIC CANDY

Like the old Mervyn’s commercials (did I just date myself?), I would walk by at each visit to the park and silently mouth “open, open, open” while the “coming soon” sign taunted me for months. However, it’s finally here and I was first on scene to get the inside scope.

Classic Candy is home to all your favorite candies - past and present. Upon entering, it’ll feel you’re having Breakfast at Tiffany’s or have just taken a trip back to 1950 with it’s black and white checkered tiles. There is a taffy table that greets you upon entering. Taffy in a variety of flavors is available for purchasing - my favorite is the Knott’s boysenberry vanilla mix but then again, I can’t get enough of anything boysenberry so I get my fix where I can - even in taffy.

As you wander the store, you’ll notice a little something for everyone - even if you’re not the biggest fan of candy. *gasp* To the left is a wall sorted by decade. If you’re looking for candy from your childhood, or looking to try something new, you’ll find it on this wall.

In the center of the action is a Pucker Powder Candy Art Station which allows you to get creative and create powdered candy of your choice. If you’re looking for a bit of nostalgia during your trip at Knott’s, Classic Candy is located near the Coffee Hut across from the Charleston Circle Fountain. Be sure to bring your appetite or your sweet tooth.
